How good was "Terrific" Tom Seaver (ranked #3 above overall)? He struck out more than two-hundred batters in nine consecutive seasons, nineteen batters in one game once, was awarded three Cy Young Awards and won more than three-hundred games during his Major League career.
Grover Alexander had two-thousand one-hundred ninety-eight (2,198) career strikeouts. Hal Newhouser had one-thousand seven-hundred ninety-six (1,796). Carl Hubbell had one-thousand six-hundred seventy-seven (1,677). Did you know that you could add ALL their totals and they are still less than strikeout king / fellow hall of fame pitcher Nolan Ryan ?
