The Ballplayers
A Baseball Player Encyclopedia (Sessi to Silva)

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive list of EVERY Major League player whose last name falls between the names above. Included on the chart are links to the players biography, the years he played, an Auto(graphed) baseball card notation (Y=Yes) and a (HOF) Hall of Fame mark (Y=Yes). Bold entries stand for active players which are defined as those who played in at least one Major League game during the most recently completed season.

"Called 'Bucketfoot Al' because of an unusual batting style in which he stepped toward the dugout, Al Simmons confounded the purists to the tune of 307 home runs and a .334 average. The Philadelphia Athletics' outfielder compiled more hits than any right-handed batter in American League history until surpassed by Al Kaline. A deadly clutch-hitter, Simmons won batting titles in 1930 and 1931 to help the A's to consecutive pennants." - National Baseball Hall of Fame (website)
