The Ballplayers
A Baseball Player Encyclopedia (Silvera to Smith)

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive list of EVERY Major League player whose last name falls between the names above. Included on the chart are links to the players biography, the years he played, an Auto(graphed) baseball card notation (Y=Yes) and a (HOF) Hall of Fame mark (Y=Yes). Bold entries stand for active players which are defined as those who played in at least one Major League game during the most recently completed season.

"If the small and big boys of Brooklyn find it a pleasure to shout at me, I have no objections. No matter where we play, I go through the same ordeal, and at the present time I am so used to it that at times I forget to smile at my tormentors, believing it to be part of the game." - Louis Sockalexis in The Brooklyn Eagle (May 1897)

Silvera

Smith
S is for Speaker,
Swift center-field tender,
When the ball saw him coming,
It yelled, "I surrender."
