Cory's father Jerry Aldridge was a professional football player. Jerry Aldridge played for the San Francisco 49ers (NFL) in 1980 and for the Oakland Invaders (USFL) in 1983 and 1984. On June 13, 1983, on Cory's fourth birthday, Jerry Aldridge caught a pass that went for an 80-yard touchdown reception, to help the Oakland Invaders defeat the Denver Gold, 16-10.
