On February 2, 1953, Billy Consolo signed as an amateur free agent with the Boston Red Sox

Billy Consolo made his Major League debut, with the Boston Red Sox , on April 20, 1953 , at the age of eighteen. When he hit his first big league home run, on August 1, 1953 , he was 18 years, 11 months, and 14 days old, the youngest player in BoSox history to homer during a regular season game ( the first in team history by an 18-year-old ).

Billy Consolo was not the first teenager to homer in a Red Sox uniform, he was the actually the second, and the record he broke was previously held by a Boston player who was 19 years, 18 days old, when he went deep. Do you know who that Hall of Famer was? [ Answer ]

Billy Consolo lost his home run record when Jerry Moses homered on May 25, 1965 , at the age of 18 years, 9 months, 16 days - the youngest player, through today, to homer with the Boston Red Sox , making Billy second, again.
