"After the Mets finished the 1962 season in Chicago, Rick Herrscher, who'd come to the Mets in August, approached Stengel before leaving for the winter. He was assuming he'd be back with the club in'63, but wanted some assurance from Stengel . In the unlikely event that the Mets weren't planning on having him back, Herrscher said, he planned to go to dental school to become an orthodontist. 'Well Hershner ( Stengel never said Rick's name right),' Stengel replied, 'go back to dental school.'" - William J. Ryczek in The Amazin' Mets, 1962-1969 (McFarland Publishers, 09/05/2007, Page 76)
