Did you know that Jeff Suppan never made an All-Star team and never received a vote in Cy Young Award balloting, but Soup was drafted directly out of high school making his Major League debut at the age of 20 then enjoyed an amazing career that spanned from 1995 through 2012. At his retirement (MLB Network, Jon Heyman, 01/02/2014) Suppan said, "After 17 Major League seasons, I've squeezed everything out of my ability. I am both honored and blessed to have played the game with some of the greatest teammates and coaches. Baseball will always hold a special place in my heart and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life."

Jeff Suppan, along with teammates Chris Capuano , Bill Hall , and J.J. Hardy once appeared in an episode of The Young and the Restless which aired on CBS on June 20, 2007. He is a devout Catholic who has also appeared in the Champions of Faith and Rosary Stars - Praying the Gospel DVDs. Near the end of his career, Soup (a nickname he received because Brewers fans began an odd practice of wearing paper bags over their heads and throwing soup cans on to the field during Suppan's starts) became a restaurateur - Soup's Sports Grill ( Link) .
