"God offers each one of us the free gift of Salvation, but we must each make a decision to accept the gift. The gift is Christ's payment of our sins by His death on the cross... The Bible says we must be 'doers of the Word and not hearers only.' Please accept Christ today and join God's eternal family, then dedicate every area of your life to his Lordship." - Kevin Ward (Personal Message he Included on Christian Outreach Baseball Cards)

Kevin climbed through the Phillies farm system, reaching Triple A in 1987, but got injured a year later (shoulder), was released, then fought his way back, getting signed by the Oakland Athletics in 1989. Kevin climbed through their farm system, reached Triple A in 1990, but got injured again (wrist), was released again, then fought bacak again, getting signed by the Friars in 1991. Did you know that Kevin Ward was released by the Padres after 125 games, due to his struggles at the plate (.217 average, 5 home runs, 20 RBIs)? Ward was no stranger to overcoming failure and setbacks, made his way back to Triple-A a year later, but left baseball to work with race horses, financing, and the restaurant (Greystone Steakhouse, San Diego, CA) business. On March 9, 2019, Ward died at the age of 57, after a battle with cancer.
