100-Win Seasons in Major League Baseball

Every Team in Major League History with a 100-Win Season

Major League Baseball teams who reach the 100-win mark during a single season have reached a magical plateau that qualifies them as one of the greatest teams in baseball history.

Baseball Almanac takes a look at EVERY team who has 100-or-more wins in season. Visit the roster, see every player who made this achievement possible. Visit the games won, see the entire schedule and every team defeated that particular season, along with box scores to all the games (where available).

"It (reaching 100 wins in 2001 ) means more than I thought it would. I didn't think I'd get this emotional." - Seattle Mariners Manager (1993-2002) Lou Piniella in 100 Things Mariners Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die (Michael Emmerich, Triumph Books, 04/01/2015, 2001: Chasing History , Page 27)

100-Win Seasons | Bold = Won World Series | Research by Baseball Almanac, Inc.

Records for most wins at home, most wins on the road, most wins in any month, most wins in 2-consecutive seasons, most wins from Opening Day, and most wins consecutively are ALL in the Games Won Record Book .
There has never been a season where four different teams reached the 100-win plateau, but there have been six seasons (1942, 1977, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2017) in Major League history (1876-2018) were three different teams finished with the magical mark!
Did you know that neither one of the league specific record setting teams won their respective World Series ? The 1906 Chicago Cubs won a National League record 116 games, but lost in the 1906 World Series . The 2001 Seattle Mariners won an American League record 116 games, but lost during the 2001 American League Championship Series .
