2018 Major League Baseball All-Star Game

The 2018 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 89th Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The game was hosted by the Washington Nationals and played at Nationals Park on July 17, 2018.

The host city was announced on April 4, 2015, by Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred; it will be the fifth All-Star Game in Washington, D.C., and the first since 1969, when the second Washington Senators hosted. It is also the first time that the Nationals have hosted the All-Star Game, and the first time that the Nationals franchise has hosted it since 1982, when the franchise played as the Montreal Expos.

"There's no better stage for D.C. to kind of show this new stadium we have, the area surrounding it and this awesome fan base that has grown with us than the All-Star Game . I can't think of a better city to showcase it than this one." - Washington Nationals First Draft Pick Ryan Zimmerman (26 Jul. 2017. Press Conference. The 2018 All-Star Game official logo (pictured above) features the dome of the United States Capitol, fresh off its recently completed restoration project. The three stars on both sides of the Capitol dome represent each baseball division -- the East, Central and West in each league. The single star on both sides of the Major League Baseball logo represent the American and National Leagues.
Did you know that each player on the winning All-Star team in 2017 , received a $20,000 bonus? Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association confirmed and announced a new collective bargaining agreement through the 2021 season that included this incentive, rather than using the home-field advantage method.
The 2018 All-Star rosters were made up of 32 players -- 20 position players and 12 pitchers -- with the Commissioner's Office, not the All-Star managers, making the final few selections for each roster!
