Sam Houston State University M.L.B. Player Alumni

The Sam Houston State University baseball program started in 1903, Ray Benge was the first former Bearkat to make it to the Major League level.
The first Bearkat baseball player to hit a home run in the Major Leagues was not Ray Benge . That trivia answer is Ken Boswell , who went deep on September 30, 1967 , off future Hall of Fame hurler Don Drysdale .
