Did you know that the 1973 Atlanta Braves featured the first trio - Hank Aaron (40), Darrell Evans (41) and Davey Johnson (43) - of teammates to each hit at least forty home runs during the same season (1973) in Major League history?

Darrell Evans won exactly one home run crown, when he led the American League in 1985 , with forty long balls at the age of thirty-eight - the oldest player in history at the time to lead his league in home runs. The veteran slugger had eclipsed the forty home run plateau once before, in 1973 (see fact above), with a National League team, making Howdy Doody the first player in baseball history to hit forty homers in both the American and National League .

Reggie Jackson was the first player to hit at least one-hundred home runs with three different big league teams (269 with the Athletics , 144 with the Yankees and 123 with the Angels ). The second? Darrell Evans (142 with the Giants , 141 with the Tigers and 131 with the Braves )!
