David Lewis Marshall was a Major League Baseball player for the San Francisco Giants (1967-1969), New York Mets (1970-1972) and San Diego Padres (1973). Dave, his nickname, was a graduate of Lakewood High School, an All-Star ballplayer there, an inductee into their Hall of Fame, and the first major leaguer from the Lakewood High -- which has produced more than a dozen big leaguer players since Marshall!
