Randy Milligan Stats

Randy Milligan was born on Monday, November 27, 1961, in San Diego, California. Milligan was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 12, 1987, with the New York Mets. His biographical data, year-by-year hitting stats, fielding stats, pitching stats (where applicable), career totals, uniform numbers, salary data and miscellaneous items-of-interest are presented by Baseball Almanac on this comprehensive Randy Milligan baseball stats page.

"Randy (Milligan) was not even on the Mets' 40-man roster in the spring of 1987, nor was he listed in the team's press guide under non-roster players. But this obscure first baseman had a tremendous season for Tidewater in 1987. He missed the Triple-A Internationa league Triple Crown by just two home runs as he won the batting title with a .326 average and was tops in RBIs with 103. Randy's 29 homers ranked third in the league. In the Governor's Cup playoffs against Columbus, he had six hits in 12 at bats and was named the league's MVP and Rookie of the Year. Randy was also voted the best batting prospect in the I.L. in 1987. 'He's the best young hitter we've seen all year,' said Columbus manager Bucky Dent . 'He wore us out.' Unhappily, Randy is is a first baseman on a team that has one of the best in baseball - Keith Hernandez " - 1988 Score (Score Baseball Cards, Randy Milligan Rookie Prospect Card, 623 of 660, 1988)
