Most Home Runs in an Inning Records

Major League Baseball Records for Home Runs Hit During an Inning

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a record book full of baseball milestones for home runs in an inning — including most most home runs in any given inning and most home runs in any extra inning.

"When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure. I felt like I had all the weight of the world on top of me and I needed to perform, and perform at a high level every day. Back then, (baseball) was a different culture. It was very loose. I was young. I was stupid. I was naive. And I wanted to prove to everyone that I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time. I did take a banned substance. And for that, I am very sorry and deeply regretful." - Alex Rodriguez on ESPN (Peter Gammons Interview, MLB Survey, 2003)

Most Home Runs in an Inning Records | Research by Baseball Almanac

Did you know that Alex Rodriguez and Edwin Encarnacion are the only American Leaguers to hit two home runs in the same inning, twice in their careers?
Andre Dawson , Jeff King and Willie McCovey are part of a unique club -- all three National League sluggers hit two home runs in the same inning of the same game twice each during their respective careers.
Only five players, in five different instances, have hit more than one home run after the 9th inning and they are listed up above - click the box score of each to see if those were winning efforts or losing efforts.
