Did you know that the 1958 Midsummer Classic was the first to be played where neither league had an extra base hit?

Hank Aaron , Willie Mays , Stan Musial , Al Kaline , Mickey Mantle & Ted Williams each had no less than two plate appearances and nothing but singles were hit.

Vice-President Richard Nixon threw out the first pitch and on July 14, 1970 , he became the first sitting U.S. President to attend a night-time All-Star contest.
