The 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 88th Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The game was hosted by the Miami Marlins and played in Marlins Park on July 11, 2017.
"I've only been the Commissioner of baseball for 20 days. During those 20 days, I've had a lot of firsts. Today is another first for me. This beautiful Marlins Park, where we are today, will host the 88th Midsummer Classic, and it is appropriate that the game will be held in the 25th year of the Miami Marlins." - Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred (Press Conference, 02/14/2015)

For the first time since the 2002 All-Star Game , this Midsummer Classic will have no effect on home-field advantage for the 2017 World Series, which will be determined by which team has the best record.
Did you know that each player on the winning All-Star team in 2017, will earn a $20,000 bonus? Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association confirmed and announced a new collective bargaining agreement through the 2021 season that included this incentive, rather than using the home-field advantage method.
The 2017 All-Star rosters will be made up of 32 players -- 20 position players and 12 pitchers -- with the Commissioner's Office, not the All-Star managers, making the final few selections for each roster.
