Tommie Agee 1969 Game by Game Batting Logs

Tommie Agee appeared in 149 Major League games during the 1969 regular season. The chart below is a comprehensive analysis of the games Agee appeared in, specifically relating to his 1969 hitting statistics. Notes: The Date / Box field has a link to the box score from the game being described. If the Date is followed by an asterisk (*), Agee started during that game at the first position listed in the Position(s) column. Cumulative monthly totals are provided where applicable.

"Few Mets achieved a higher state of popularity than Tommie Agee, who succumbed to a massive heart attack that day (January 22, 2001) while leaving his New York City office. Agee was only 58, which made the news all the more unbearable. Although Agee played only a handful of his 12 seasons with the Mets and didn't start or finish his career with the franchise, he became a lasting symbol of the team's unexpected success in 1969. Displaying his vintage Gold Glove defense against the Baltimore Orioles, Agee made two acrobatic catches for the Mets in Game 3 of the 1969 World Series . The pair of catches helped the Mets win the game and take a two games-to-one lead in the Series. And let's not forget what Agee did during the regular season in 1969, when he hit a career-high 26 home runs as the team's everyday center fielder." - By Bruce Markusen in Tales from the New York Mets Dugout: A Collection of the Greatest Mets Stories Ever Told (Sports Publishing, 03/14/2012, Page 234)
