Babe Adams hung up his cleats in 1926 , managed a farm team in farmed in Mount Moriah, Missouri for a short while, then became a sportswriter. Then, when World War II started, he spent time abroad as a war correspondent. He returned to sports after the War, but once again went abroad to cover the Korean War.
