"He's (Yordan Alvarez) got great presence in the batter's box. He controls his body in the batter's box pretty well and he takes some really big swings. He hits the ball hard, draws a fair share of walks. He's been very disciplined at the plate, which I've liked, and his timing seems good." - Houston Astros Manager (2015-Today) A.J. Yordan Ruben Álvarez is an active Major League Baseball player for the Houston Astros (2019-Today). Yordan homered in his first big league game (June 9, 2019), then again in his second game (June 11), the first Astros player to go deep in his first two career games!

Yordan Alvarez went hitless in his third game, on June 12, but in his next two games, June 14 & June 15, he went deep again, giving him four home runs in his first five career games - just the fourth player in baseball history to homer in four of his first five games, joining Mike Jacobs (2005), Yasiel Puig (2013), and Trevor Story (2016). A feat so unique, Topps issued a baseball card to honor the accomplishment:
