Did you know that Rocky Colavito was named one of the 100 Greatest Cleveland Indians Players Top 100 Greatest Indians and Colavito was named one of the twenty-three outfielders. Five years later, on July 29, 2006, Colavito, along with Ray Chapman , Addie Joss , Al Lopez , Sam McDowell , Al Rosen and Herb Score , were inducted into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame.

Rocky Colavito, who appeared on the mound on August 13, 1958 , then ten years later on August 25, 1968 , is one of only thirteen former Major League ballplayers who is an undefeated pitcher (Wins >= 1) with a perfect earned run average (ERA = 0.00)! How good was he really? "Colavito excelled in another way in 1958—as a pitcher. He often warmed up before the game with a catcher since they had padded mitts to catch his fast throws. 'How fast is he?' ( Joe ) Gordon (Indians manager) asked catcher J.W. Porter one day curious about how hard Colavito threw. 'Faster than anybody,' Porter replied. 'Faster than Score or Duren ?' Gordon asked, referring to Herb Score and fireballing reliever Ryne Duren . 'Faster than anybody,' Porter repeated. Source: Rocky Colavito: Cleveland's Iconic Slugger by Marc Sommers, p. 84-85.
