William Joseph Connors was a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs (1966-1966) and New York Mets (1967-1968). Bill, or Billy, was best known for his post playing career, where he put together an amazing career and was referred to later in his life as The Pitching Whisperer ! Billy Connors, the coach:

Billy Connors was the Mets Philadelphia Phillies (1977–1979). He was "called-up" to serve as Pitching Coach with the Kansas City Royals (1980–1981), Cubs (1982–1986; 1991–1993), Seattle Mariners (1987–1988), and three terms with the New York Yankees (1989–1990; 1994–1995). The Yankees moved him to the front office in 1996, where he served as Vice President of Player Personnel, until he retired in 2012.
