When Contreras made his big league debut on June 19, 2016 , he hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat —and was also just the thirtieth player in baseball history to hit a home run off the first pitch ever thrown to them in a regular season game !

In 2018, Willson Contreras was hitting .287, with 34 RBIs, and seven home runs, earning him a spot on the National League All-Star roster in the 2018 All-Star Game . When he stepped to the plate, he hit a home run off the first pitch ever thrown to him in a Midsummer Classic —making him the first player in baseball history to homer off both the first career and first All-Star pitch seen in his career !
