On April 22, 2017 , Phillip Ervin made his big league debut, pinch hitting for Cody Reed (LHP) in the bottom of the second inning, hitting a hard grounder back to the pitcher ( Jake Arrieta ), who threw to second base for the force out, allowing Ervin to reach base in his first at-bat, on a fielder's choice. Ervin, at that point, became the second Leroy High School graduate to play in the majors. Do you know who was first? [ Answer ]
