Mariekson Julius Gregorius is an active Major League Baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds (2012), Arizona Diamondbacks (2013-2014), and New York Yankees (2015-today). Didi, his nickname, was born in Amsterdam, the twelfth big leaguer from the Netherlands , and he already has the most homers from any ballplayer born in that country!

Didi Gregorius hit his first career grand slam on July 1, 2017 . His second, April 23, 2018 , and later that same year he hit his third, on September 11, 2018 . When he connected for his fourth, on July 16, 2019, he became the Bronx Bombers all-time leader for grand slams hit -- while playing shortstop, breaking the record once held by Frankie Crosetti !

Did you know that his nickname, Sir Didi, was given to him after he played in the 2011 Baseball World Cup? The Dutch national baseball team beat Cuba in the finals and instead of taking prize money, they were awarded the Order of Orange-Nassau -- a Dutch order of chivalry given to those who earned special merits for society. That makes Gregorius a fifth class Knight in the Netherlands , or Sir Didi!
