Did you know that when Ross Grimsley went 20-11 in 1978 , he became the first and only Montreal Expos (1969-2004) pitcher to ever win twenty-or-more games in a single season?

Did you know that when Grimsley won those 20 games in 1978, he had a 3.05 ERA, threw 19 complete games, had 3 shutouts, and finished 7th in the Cy Young Award race? The pitchers who received more votes than Ross that year were:

6th place: Phil Niekro (19 wins, 2.88 ERA, 22 complete games, 4 shutouts), 5th place: Kent Tekulve (8 wins, 2.33 ERA, 31 saves), 4th place: J.R. Richard (18 wins, 3.11 ERA, 16 complete games, 3 shutouts, 303 strikeouts), 3rd place: Vida Blue (18 wins, 2.79 ERA, 9 complete games, 4 shutouts), 2nd place: Burt Hooton (19 wins, 2.71 ERA, 10 complete games, 3 shutouts), 1st place: Gaylord Perry (21 wins, 2.73 ERA, 5 complete games, 2 shutouts).

Ross Grimsley was the last National League pitcher to win at least twenty games, but strike out fewer than 100 batters. There are 149 instances in NL history, but none since Grimsley did it in 1978 ! There have been 62 instances in American League history, where a pitcher won at least 20 games, but struck out fewer than 100 batters, the last one occurring in 1991 . Who was that pitcher?
