"One time a woman from the TV show '20/20' approached me. She said they were doing a show on obsessive-compulsive behavior and wanted to open it with some film of me batting. I told her to forget it; what was the last thing I needed. I never I thought I was obsessive-compulsive. It was just the way I batted," said Mike Hargrove in Curse of The Curse of Rocky Colavito (Terry Pluto, Gray & Company Publishing, 04/13/2007, Page 278). The "disorder" they were referring to was the deliberate routine Hargrove did before every single pitch :

Mike Hargrove won the Rookie of the Year in 1974, the first recipient in franchise history for the Texas Rangers . Hargrove's 134 hits, 4 home runs and 66 RBI matched closely with the runner-up, Bucky Dent , who had 136 hits, 5 home runs and 45 RBI, but Mike had a .323 batting average (5th highest in the American League / Dent finished at .274) and a .395 on base percentage (7th highest in the American League / Dent finished at .316).
