Did you know that Mike Hargrove was named one of the 100 Greatest Cleveland Indians Players Top 100 Greatest Indians and Hargrove was named one of the nine first basemen.

Did you know that when Mike Hargrove led all other American League players in bases on balls in 1976, he became the first player from the Texas Rangers to top the junior circuit? Did you know when Hargrove led the AL again in 1978, The Human Rain Delay became the first - and through today the only - two time Ranger to top the junior circuit? [ Year by Year Leaders for Bases on Balls ]

"One time a woman from the TV show '20/20' approached me. She said they were doing a show on obsessive-compulsive behavior and wanted to open it with some film of me batting. I told her to forget it; what was the last thing I needed. I never I thought I was obsessive-compulsive. It was just the way I batted," said Mike Hargrove in Curse of The Curse of Rocky Colavito (Terry Pluto, Gray & Company Publishing, 04/13/2007, Page 278). The "disorder" they were referring to was the deliberate routine Hargrove did before every single pitch :

The Human Rain Delay Batting Routine

Adjust his batting glove.

Adjust his jersey.

Adjust his sleeves.

Adjust his pants.

Adjust his batting helmet.

Carefully place his left foot in the batter's box.

Carefully place his right foot in the batter's box.
