On April 8, 1969 , Mike Hegan - the son of Jim Hegan - took the field in a Seattle Pilots uniform, the first right fielder, in the first franchise game, for the Milwaukee Brewers (after one year in Seattle , the team relocated to Milwaukee ). In the first inning, Hegan homered off Jim McGlothlin of the California Angels , the first home run ever hit in franchise history (and the first RBI ( Tommy Harper had led off the game with a double)!

The following year, on April 7, 1970 , Mike Hegan took the wearing their new Milwaukee Brewers uniforms, this time taking the field at first base, the team's first first baseman in their first game after thee franchised moved to Milwaukee .

Mike Hegan was traded by the Brew Crew the following season, played a bit for the Oakland Athletics , was traded again, played a bit for the New York Yankees , then made his way back to Milwaukee in 1974. Two years later, on September 3, 1976 , Hegan hit for the cycle - the first Milwaukee Brewers player to ever complete a cycle !

Did you know that Mike Hegan once played in 178 consecutive games at first base, without committing a single error ( Error Records ), setting a new American League record? Do you know what Boston Red Sox first baseman broke the record in 2006-2008? [ Answer ]
