Sixteen rookies received votes during the 2008 Rookie of the Year race, including ten American League phenoms; Nick Blackburn (1 point), Joba Chamberlain (1 point), Brad Ziegler (1 Point), Joey Devine (3 points), Denard Span (3 points), Mike Aviles (9 points), Armando Galarraga (9 points), Jacoby Ellsbury (26 points), Alexei Ramirez (59 points), and Evan Longoria (140 points) - the first Tampa Bay Rays player to win the Rookie of the Year Award .

On April 3, 2014 , Evan Longoria hit the 163rd home run of his career (off Esmil Rogers ), tying Carlos Pena for the most home runs in Rays ' history. On April 19, 2014 , Longo collected his 164th career homer run, with a little help from Ivan Nova , setting a new franchise record for most home runs, still unbroken, and still climbing. [ MLB.com Sortable Rays' Stats ]

Did you know that Evan Longoria was the first third baseman in Major League history to make the All-Star Team in each of his first three seasons ( 2008 , 2009 , 2010 )? Maybe, it was because Longo had 40-or-more doubles, 25-or-more home runs and 100-or-more RBI in of his first three seasons, a feat matched by only two other players, Ted Williams and Albert Pujols .
