Baseball Almanac Top Quote

"Julio (Machado) gave the Mets some valuable middle relief in '90. Deceptively wild, with a humming fastball and slider, he ran up a 4-1 record in his first 26 appearances, spread over two different stints with the team. Julio had been released by the Phillies in spring training '89 and was quickly picked up by the Mets . 'You don't see a lot of right handed hitters getting comfortable against him,' said Met coach Mike Cubbage ." - 1991 Score Baseball Card (Score Baseball, Inc., Julio Machado Rising Stars , Card #87, 1991)
