"I always knew I would be able to bat in the major leagues. If I could do it in the Dominican League, I was going to do it in the major leagues. The Dominican League is harder for a batter than the major leagues." - Kendrys Morales on ESPNdeportes (Enrique Rojas, 09/22/2009, 'Hitting on all cylinders, all shores', Source )

Did you know that there have been more than 250 instances in Major League history where a player hit a home run from each side of the plate (one batting right handed / one batting left handed) in the same game ; however only three time in history it happened in the same inning:

Home Runs From Each Side of Plate in the Same Inning

Name League Team Date / Box

Inning

Carlos Baerga AL Cleveland Indians 04-08-1993 7th Inning
Mark Bellhorn NL Chicago Cubs 08-29-2002 4th Inning
Kendrys Morales AL Los Angeles Angels 07-30-2012 6th Inning

Kendrys Morales has no stats for 2011, due to a grand slam he hit in 2010 [the first of his career]! On May 29, 2010 , Morales hit a walk-off grand slam off Brandon League to end a 10-inning 5–1 victory over the Seattle Mariners at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. His teammates were celebrating at home plate and Morales joined the fray, jumping onto home plate, landing awkwardly, and fracturing his lower left leg - Kendrys missed the rest of the 2010 season and all of 2011.

Did you know that Kendrys Morales had attempted to flee Cuba eleven times before succeeding in a raft, in June 2004, on his twelfth attempt? [ Source ]
