Baseball Almanac Top Quote

"We (the 1969 Seattle Pilots ) really didn't have as bad a team as everyone thought we did, or remembered we did. You have to remember we were an expansion team and we did have some pretty good players on our team." - Marty Pattin in Baseball Digest (September 1988, The Game I'll Never Forget , Page 38)

Martin William Pattin was an Major League Baseball player who pitched for the California Angels (1968), Seattle Pilots (1969), Milwaukee Brewers Boston Red Sox (1972–1973), and Kansas City Royals (1974–1980). Marty, his nickname, was the last Pilots player to ever wear #33 ( September 17, 1969 ), and the first Brewers player to wear #33 ( April 8, 1970 )!

Did you know that Marty Pattin hit two career home runs, July 1, 1972 & September 26, 1972 -- both of The Bulldog's homers were in Fenway Park, both were hit in the second inning, both occurred with a man a base, both happened with two outs, and both were off the same opposing pitcher ( Bill Parsons )!
