David Peralta Stats

David Peralta was born on Friday, August 14, 1987, in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela. Peralta was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on June 1, 2014, with the Arizona Diamondbacks. His biographical data, year-by-year hitting stats, fielding stats, pitching stats (where applicable), career totals, uniform numbers, salary data and miscellaneous items-of-interest are presented by Baseball Almanac on this comprehensive David Peralta baseball stats page.

"When the season started, outfielder David Peralta was not really on the D-backs' radar screen. He is now. Since coming up from Double-A Mobile and making his big league debut on June 1, Peralta leads all rookies in average with a .331 mark and is third in hits with 40. 'He's got a good swing path,' D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said. 'He's very short to the ball, he swings down through the ball. You don't see him dipping like you see some guys do. He stays pretty short, he's aggressive, he recognizes the ball pretty good.'" - By Steve Gilbert (MLB.com, 07/08/2014, 'Peralta continues to impress', Source )

On April 22, 2017, David Peralta said, during a post game press conference, "To be honest, no, I swear I didn't know about that. It's just the way I play. I like to play hard for my team and myself. I mean, I saw the ground ball and I thought I had a pretty good chance to make it to second and be in scoring position for Goldy . I heard everybody screaming and I saw it on the scoreboard video screen. It was good. It was good to be a part of something like that."

What appeared on the scoreboard that historic day? An announcement that David Peralta had just set a new Arizona Diamondbacks record for doubles in a game - a total of four, which also tied the National League record for doubles in 9-inning game ! [ Doubles Records ]
