Did you know that when Vada Pinson retired in 1975, he was only the second player - the first was Willie Mays - in Major League history with at least 250 career home runs and 300 stolen bases?

Did you know that when Vada Pinson won a Gold Glove in 1961, he was only the second Cincinnati Reds outfielder to win - the first was Frank Robinson (1958)? Pinson was one of three National League outfielders to receive the honor, joining Willie Mays (winning his fifth) and first time recipient Roberto Clemente .

Vada Pinson was clearly one of the most dominant players of the 1960's and has the following top ten ranks during the decade: 2nd in doubles (310), 2nd in triples (93), 3rd in at bats (6,086), 3rd in hits (1,776), 4th in games played (1,516), 5th in runs scored (885), and 5th in stolen bases (202).

Highly respected baseball historian Bill James ranked Vada Pinson as the #18th greatest center fielder of all time in The New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract (Free Press Publishers, 06/13/2003, 'Center Field', Page 781) ahead of Hall of Famers Hack Wilson (#19), Hugh Duffy (#20), Max Carey (#23) Earle Combs (#34), and Lloyd Waner (#50).
