Daniel James Zamora is a Major League Baseball player who pitches for the New York Mets (2018-today). Zamora, graduated from Bishop Amat Memorial High School, was drafted in 2012 (in the 27th round), but chose to play college baseball at Stony Brook University . After two years, Daniel was drafted again, in the final round (40th) of the 2015 draft , yet three years later, he was pitching in the big leagues!
Daniel Zamora said, "Subconsciously, I knew it was a longshot, but you can't look at it like that. It was a chance to put on another uniform and go to work. I knew how unlikely it was for a guy like me, but I didn't care. It was just an opportunity and I had to make the most it. I was never one of those guys blessed with a rocket arm and I never did the showcases. I was always under the radar and had to work a little harder than the person next to me."
