Home Run Records by a Team During a Single Season

Major League Baseball Records for Home Runs in a Season by Teams

Home run records set by the teams over a season including most, most on the road, most at home, and several other variations. Presented below in alphabetical order are home run records set by the teams during a season of play.

"The Yankees can't win it all just by hitting home runs. In October, when the weather is cold and the pitchers are elite, they'll need to play small ball. I don't view this as complete malarkey. There are grains of truth to those notions. It is generally colder in October than it is in July or August, no matter where you’re playing ball. And playoff teams generally will have good pitchers, and the postseason schedule provides a tad more rest for those pitchers." - by Ken Davidoff in the New York Post (07/19/2012, 'The Yankees, home runs and October', Source )

Do you know the team record for most home runs in any given month from any season in Major League history by team team? The American League record was set by the Baltimore Orioles with fifty-eight in May 1987, then passed by the New York Yankees with seventy-four in August 2019. The National League record was set by the New York Giants with fifty-five in July 1947, then tied by the St. Louis Cardinals in April 2000, then tied again by the Atlanta Braves in May 2003.

The 1956 Cincinnati Redlegs set a National League record for home runs hit against the same team during the same season when they slugged forty-four versus the 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers .
