Grant Robert Balfour was a Major League Baseball player for the Minnesota Twins (2001, 2003-2004), Milwaukee Brewers (2007), Tampa Bay Rays (2007-2010, 2014-2015), and Oakland Athletics (2011-2013). He is the eleventh Australian -born pitcher in baseball history whose career wins (30), saves (84) and strikeout (571) totals are tops amongst fellow twirlers from Australia .

Did you know that when Grant Balfour recorded a save in Game 1 of a doubleheader on May 1, 2014, then a second save in Game 2 that same day, he became the first Tampa Bay Rays pitcher to record saves in both ends of a doubleheader?

On February 28, 2015, Grant Balfour was inducted into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame - only the sixth former major leaguer honored by the Australian Baseball Federation!
