Did you know that Lou Boudreau was named one of the 100 Greatest Cleveland Indians Players Top 100 Greatest Indians and Boudreau was named one of the seven shortstops.

Lou Boudreau and teammate Ken Keltner were partly responsible for stopping the Joe DiMaggio 56-game hitting streak in 1941. Joltin Joe entered the game, on July 17, 1941 , with his streak in tact, and Keltner easily handled the first two grounders, making great defensive stops at third. In his last at-bat, DiMaggio hit a hard ball up the middle, which took a bad hop, but Boudreau barehanded it, started a double play, retired Joe at first, and ended the batting streak .
