Anyone who says different is nuts." - Frankie 'The Crow' Crosetti in The Los Angeles Times(Gary Klein, 02/13/2002, Frank Crosetti, 91; Yankee Player, Third-Base Coach , Source )

Frank Peter Joseph Crosetti was a Major League Baseball player who spent his entire 17-year career playing infield for the New York Yankees (1932-1948). The Crow, his nickname, actually began coaching for the Bronx Bombers in 1946, while still playing, and remained a third base coach with the Yanks until 1968!

Did you know The Crow participated in twenty-three Fall Classic with the New York Yankees , and collected a Major League record seventeen rings? The Crow earned eight World Series rings as a player ( 1932 , 1936 , 1937 , 1938 , 1939 , 1941 , 1943 , 1947 ), then nine more while coaching ( 1949 , 1950 , 1951 , 1952 , 1953 , 1956 , 1958 , 1961 , 1962 )!

Did you know that when The Crow struck out 105 times in 1937 , it was the most strikeouts by any American League player that season (#2 Hank Greenberg )? Did you know that he reduced his strikeout total to 97 in 1938 , but still struck out more often than any other player in the league (#2 Sam Chapman )?

Frank Crosetti was hit by 114 pitches in his career, the first New York Yankees player ever hit by 100-or-more pitches ! The Crow once held the Major League record for most seasons (8x) leading a league in hit by pitch, since broken by Minnie Minoso (10x). Two Bronx Bombers reached the 100 HBP mark; Alex Rodriguez (104) and Jason Giambi (109), and one passed his franchise record - do you know who it was? [ Answer ]
