On September 28, 2015 , Chris Denorfia hit a game-winning pinch-hit home run in the eleventh inning - the first pinch hitter in Major League history to hit a walk-off home run for the only run of the game !

Chris Denorfia was the third player in Chicago Cubs history to hit a walk-off home run at Wrigley Field in an extra-inning scorless game. The Cubs - who were not pinch hitters - who came before Chris were Frank Secory ( July 6, 1946 ) and Joe Peptitone ( June 8, 1971 ).

Did you know that Chris Denorfia has "only" hit 41 home runs, yet from that small set, he has already had 14 go-ahead homers, 7 lead-off homers, 3 game-tying homers, 2 walk-off homers (including the history making shot above) and an inside the park home run?

Did you know that Chris Denorfia broke the San Diego Padres single season record for most stolen bases in a year without being caught stealing? In 2013, Denorfia stole eleven bags, and did not get caught once, breaking the mark once held by Desi Relaford , who swiped sight bases in 2000, without getting caught.

The inside the park home run (video above) occurred on August 5, 2010 , and bounced approximately five-feet in front of the plate, though not an record, it certainly might be the shortest inside the park home run ever hit in baseball history!
