Jarrod Zane Patterson was a Major League Baseball player with the Detroit Tigers ( 2001 ) and Kansas City Royals ( 2003 ). When Jarrod made his big league debut on June 16, 2001 , he became the first Chilton County High School graduate to reach the majors!

In 1995, Jarrod Patterson was playing rookie ball in the Appalachian League, with the Kingsport Mets, and finished the season hitting .279, with thirteen home runs, and fifty-seven RBI, earning the Most Valuable Player Award!

Did you know that Jarrod Patterson was originally drafted by New York Mets in the 20th round of the 1993 Baseball Draft , appearing on baseball cards with them (above), but never once appearing on a card in either a Tigers or Royals uniform?
